10. Expert equipment

In most cases, building surveys require the technician in charge of the survey not only to identify the damage, but also to take measurements to monitor its progress and establish a diagnosis. This means that the technician needs to be able to call on a range of equipment adapted to his or her speciality, what some have called the surveyor's "toolkit" or "toolbox".

The following is a list of the most common, easy-to-use equipment available to experts. This list is by no means exhaustive.
