4.1 Standardization

The required degree of safety is obtained by applying the appropriate partial coefficients.

The standard NF EN 1993-1-9 requires the use of two partial coefficients:

  • γ Ff , partial coefficient for fatigue loading, which takes into account uncertainties in the analysis of a structure and on loading ;

  • γ Mf , partial coefficient for fatigue strength, which takes account of uncertainties in strength.
