6. Classification and sizing of platforms

The design of subgrades is based, on the one hand, on the assessment of numerous parameters (intrinsic and/or mechanical characteristics of materials, frost susceptibility, etc.) and, on the other hand, calls on complementary disciplines, in particular those concerning traffic studies and pavement design proper, which are not developed here.
