6.1 Compaction principles and techniques
Pipe manufacturing involves a variety of techniques, whose compaction principles, demolding methods and fields of application are specified in table 1 .
Some of them are widely used for the most common products, such as sewage pipes. Others, such as centrifuging, were used extensively in the past, but are now employed only for special products, such as prestressed pressure pipes, or other long products like piles and lampposts.
