12.1 Load application

The load direction is defined by the angle formed by the pin axis and the direction of the applied load.

In the European dimensioning method, the load (F) must be broken down into a tensile component (N), axial, and a shear component (V), perpendicular to the anchor axis (see figure 53 ).
