8. Seismic design
Numerous documents deal with the seismic dimensioning of fasteners. These are often obsolete or only partially covered. For this reason, National Annex C of standard NF EN 1992-4 sets out all the requirements for sizing anchors in seismic zones.
The requirements and applicable texts vary according to :
seismicity zone ;
type of building (building size category) ;
the project (new or existing building).
According to decree n°2010-1255 of 22/10/2010, the application of seismic rules according to the type of building (new or existing) is governed by the figure 40 .
