5. Sanitary appliances

Sanitary appliances include washbasins, WCs, bathtubs, sinks, showers and bidets. In a bathroom, a space called the "use area" must be set aside to make the best use of sanitary appliances. The diameters of cold and hot water supplies and drains are given in DTU 60.11 (table 16 ).

5.1 Washbasins

Washbasins are defined by standards NF D 11-110 and NF D 11-101. There are several types of washbasin: pedestal, wall-mounted, recessed (basin) and of various sizes. The installation height is generally 0.85 m from the floor.
