4. Glazing

Mirror-glazing work is standardized in France by DTU 39 (reference AFNOR DTU P 78-201) of February 1987, which is still in force.

We have extracted from it everything concerning glazing sealing and installation rules. For detailed figures, please refer to the 60-page DTU.

  • The standards for glazing sealants are as follows:

    • linseed oil sealants: NF P 78-331 ;

    • Profiles for joints in lightweight facades, rubber-based: NF P 85-301 ;

    • oleoplastic sealants: see DTU 39 ;

    • sealing compounds: see DTU 39 ;

    • sealants in preformed strips: see DTU 39 ;

    • joint bottoms: appendix B4 of DTU 39.
