7. Exterior glazed glass (VEC)

This technique is studied in [C 961] Glues and adhesives. Building applications.

The CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) issues technical notices for complete VEC systems.

We will therefore confine ourselves to giving a few recent guidelines and rules, as well as the detailed characteristics of a silicone sealant used in France for this technique, RHODORSIL VEC 99.

VEC consists of gluing simple or insulating glass products to a metal frame in the workshop. This assembly is then mechanically fastened to the façade framework....
