ABSTRACT

The exploitation of photovoltaic energy begins with the development of solar cells, more and more efficient.

Power plants, for the sale of energy, self-consumption or other applications, are present in a fast growing market.

Each installation involves selecting the elements that make up the photovoltaic generator, according to its size and category (individual, rooftop power plant, ground parking, parking shade, floating photovoltaic ...).

 INTRODUCTION

Photovoltaic solar energy is green, economical, highly accessible and considered inexhaustible, making it one of the world's leading sources of renewable energy.

Solar cells are based on crystalline silicon, an ultra-present semiconductor material in a booming French, European and global market.

This includes photovoltaic modules, inverters, electrical equipment, integration systems and building structures. From a few peak kilowatts (kWp) for a domestic installation to several hundred peak megawatts (MWp) for a power plant, arranged in ground-mounted or floating parks, integrated into buildings or superimposed on the roofs of houses, sheds or shades, photovoltaics is making an ever-greater contribution to our daily lives and to the evolution of awareness towards the preservation of nature and the environment.

This article deals with the different types of electrical installations for large-scale or domestic use. Design, construction and installation are covered in other articles.
