LOCA (Loss of Primary Coolant Accident)
Accident caused by a pipe breach in the primary circuit of a water-cooled nuclear reactor.
AREVA
French multinational in the energy sector, mainly active in the nuclear business, which designed the PWRs for France's nuclear power plants and operates the French fuel cycle plants (enrichment, fabrication, reprocessing).
ASTEC (Accident Source Term Evaluation Code)
Software jointly developed by IRSN and GRS to simulate all the phenomena that could occur during a core meltdown accident in a water-cooled nuclear reactor.
