4. Profile wrapping

To save on the cost of real wood, mouldings or profiles can be made by wrapping a cheap profile in MDF (which provides a very smooth surface) or very cheap wood (figure 10 ): pine, small branches, with a sheet of more noble peeled wood or PVC. This is done using special machines, which we'll look at in a moment.
