7. Edgebanding (straight)
For the past forty years, straight edge veneering has been the most widely used technique for decorating and protecting panel edges, since until recently furniture almost always had glued straight edges.
This technique is now less widely used in our countries, having been partially supplanted by rounded, molded edges produced by soft-forming, post-forming or diaphragm presses.
It's worth investigating, however, as all furniture manufacturers have straight edge banding machines, which they use at least for shelves, drawers, etc.
This type of production is always carried out in large batches, so :
automatic panel-bonding machines (with automatic panel feed) on a linear conveyor running at speeds of between 20 and 40 m/min;
