4. Conclusion
This article introduces welding processes for metallic materials and discusses their classification. It gives some guidelines for choosing a welding process for a given application. A relatively important point linked to welding is addressed: personal health and safety. Welding processes are constantly evolving, both in terms of process technology and fields of application. Welding equipment designers are offering ever more efficient equipment, mainly to reduce production costs, but also to meet the ever-increasing demand for quality. The automation of welding processes (mechanization or robotization) is currently a source of innovation within the welding assembly field.
