2. High-pressure assisted machining

The principle of high-pressure assistance is to promote heat dissipation, while reducing tool/chip friction. The possibilities for integrating the assistance into the machine tool are presented first. The approach to analyzing the effects of assistance on machining then consists in studying the effect of cutting parameters and those linked to high-pressure assistance. Particular attention is paid to the study of surface modifications generated by high pressure, and to the analysis of tool wear mechanisms.
