2. Filler alloy

2.1 Alloy families

Filler alloys are the cornerstone of brazed assemblies. They meet all the requirements of the application in question, such as mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, electrical resistivity, visual appearance, color... But above all, their choice is dictated by their ability to form a metallurgical junction with the substrate.

There are therefore several families of brazing and soldering filler metals. The main families used in industry are listed in European and/or international standards (e.g. : NF A 81-362 , NF EN ISO 17672 ).
