5. Conclusion
The tightness level of a system is the result of a complex interplay of factors. There are no universal leak testing solutions, and the choice of a leak measurement methodology will always represent a compromise between different parameters, the most important of which is the sensitivity of the method.
In order to limit inspection costs, it is essential to integrate leak testing right from the design stage of a mechanical assembly. What's more, the way the inspection is carried out in the field (time allocated, test conditions, inspection environment, inspector training) also has a major influence on the performance of leak testing.
