4. The main changes
4.1 Management responsibility
Managers have a key role to play in the implementation of a quality approach: their commitment and involvement, through visible actions, determine its success and sustainability, as well as the buy-in of all those involved in a project that is designed to mobilize.
The requirements relating to management responsibilities follow the dynamic cycle shown in (figure 5 ).
An analysis of the changes reveals a strengthening of managerial requirements: compared with the 1994 version of ISO 9001, the paragraph on management responsibility has been expanded to specify the role expected of managers in the quality approach.
