1. Shrink-fit assembly
Typically, shrink-fit assembly consists of joining a ring and a shaft, with the initial inside diameter 2 r 1 of the ring being slightly smaller than the initial outside diameter 2 r 1 + s of the axis. The difference s between these two quantities corresponds to tightening the ring on the shaft, the ratio s/2 r 1 refers to the proportional clamping, noted A. Depending on the shrink-fit application, this proportional tightening can range from one ten-thousandth to a few thousandths.
