4.1 By deformation
As with absolute sealing, bellows or deformable membranes are used, but these are made from elastomers. As these materials are not totally impermeable, very small leakage is possible, especially with gases.
Elastomer bellows (figure 11 ) are flexible, compressible containers used mainly as a means of protection against dust and splashes, as their resistance to pressure is very low.
