anti-extrusion ring; back-up ring
Washer-like device of relatively hard, resistant material installed on the downstream side of a seal (O-ring, U-ring, etc.) to prevent extrusion of the seal into the diametral space under pressure.
guide ring; bague de guidage
Ring supporting radial loads and guiding cylinder rods and pistons.
cavitation; cavitation
Air bubbles in the oil can be rapidly compressed to the point of implosion.
stick-slip; stick-slip
Jerky movement sometimes observed in hydraulic cylinders due to the difference between static and dynamic friction.
thermal degradation
Irreversible and undesirable modification of a material's properties due to overheating....
