6. Analytical diaphragm calculation
The analytical approach presented here is based on calculations made by M. Boivin and J. Bahuaud . This approach starts with a Belleville washer calculation and extrapolates it to diaphragms, assuming that the influence of fingers on diaphragm behavior is negligible. With this simplification, the problem to be solved becomes one with axial symmetry of revolution (figure 18 ).
