
5. Example of a turbocharger adaptation calculation
The engine used for this calculation example is a 2.5 L direct-injection diesel engine, for which we want to obtain a pme of 17 bar from 1,800 rpm and a rated power of 120 kW at 4,400 rpm. The calculation process is described below. Tables 3 , 4 and 5 progressively indicate (in italics) the assumptions used and the particular operating conditions of this motor. The values used for this fictitious example are close to current production applications.
