4. Control strategies
4.1 Definition
This is where we come into contact with the great peculiarity of digital control systems: their "intelligence" resides in strategies based on algorithms, which are coded in the form of a program and inaccessible in concrete terms. It goes without saying that many of these strategies are jealously guarded by the designer, and in a presentation such as this we can only describe those that are commonly used and considered to be in the public domain. Where control laws cannot be described, we will concentrate on explaining their objectives by analyzing the problem to be solved by motor control.
A strategy consists of a succession of logical tests and mathematical operations. These tests and operations are based on parameters.
