3.1.1 Angular position of crankshaft or camshaft
There are generally two types of position sensor: inductive and Hall-effect.

Inductive sensor
It consists of a solenoid subjected to the action of a permanent magnet. Any movement of a ferromagnetic mass near the magnet creates a variation in the magnetic field to which the solenoid is subjected, generating a voltage proportional to the derivative of the flux with respect to time....
