The operating characteristics of a turbomachine reflect the functional relationships between the various variables that define its operation. For a given machine conveying an incompressible fluid of density ρ, these variables fall into various categories.
1.1 Hydraulic variables
These are those that characterize liquid flow and which, for the user of a turbomachine, are mainly the following.
