 INTRODUCTION

For incompressible fluid turbomachinery, the laws of similitude have made it possible to link together, by simple laws , characteristics relating head to volume flow for any fluid, any speed and for homothetic machines.

The question posed here is whether such laws can be extended to the case of compressible-fluid turbomachinery, i.e. compressors and turbines.
