5. Elements needed to define a pump
Given the many different types of positive displacement pumps available, and the considerable differences in the characteristics of the products being pumped, there is no simple, universal method for determining the components of a positive displacement pump unit.
This is why the user must submit to the manufacturer he consults the essential elements that will enable him to respond to the problem in the best possible conditions, namely :

density,
temperature,
viscosity,
saturation vapour pressure,
if possible, product reference ;
