5.1 The Worldwide harmonized Light duty driving Test Cycle (WLTC)
From 1 er September 2017, new vehicle models in Europe will be tested on the WLTC cycle rather than the NEDC cycle. This measure will be extended to all new vehicles from 1 er September 2018.
The WLTP procedure leads to much more realistic test conditions with :
much more realistic driving (e.g., gear shifts are no longer imposed);
a greater variety of driving conditions (urban, suburban, main road, freeway);
longer test distance and duration (NEDC = 11km in 20min, WLTC = 23.25km in 30min);
