4.1 Classification of calculation methods

The different methods are compared in the table 1 .

Depending on the type of result required (which depends on the level of progress of an industrial propeller development project), several calculation methods will be used in succession:

  • In the early stages of the project, simple, rapid methods are used to determine the propeller's overall performance and to select its geometry (singularity method);
