1. The benefits of second-generation biofuels

Global energy demand is growing, and largely dependent on fossil fuels. It is acknowledged that a significant proportion of the increase in this demand over the short and medium term will concern the transport sector, particularly from emerging countries . According to the same source, by 2030, this sector should be responsible for a third of global CO 2 emissions.
