1. Methanization principle: metabolic flow and microbiology
Anaerobic digestion or methanization is a degradation reaction of organic pollution. Organic pollutants are molecules containing carbon-hydrogen bonds (C—H). The aim of anaerobic digestion is to mineralize carbon from complex molecules, in liquid or solid phase, into methane (CH 4 ) and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) present in biogas .
