1.1 Vulnerability analysis methods developed in the nuclear industry
In the nuclear sector, the term "nuclear safety" refers to provisions designed to prevent the malicious use of nuclear substances, while the term "nuclear security" refers to provisions designed to guard against technological accidents.
In other industrial fields, the terms "safety" and "security" have opposite meanings: "safety" is associated with the fight against unintentional technological accidents, and "security" with the fight against malicious intentional acts.
