7. INRS

Founded in 1947, the Institut national de recherche et de sécurité pour la prévention des accidents du travail et des maladies professionnelles (INRS) is a non-profit association under the French law of 1901. Its budget comes from the Fonds national de prévention des accidents du travail et des maladies professionnelles (national fund for the prevention of industrial accidents and occupational illnesses), which is financed by contributions from companies subject to the general Social Security system.

It is managed by a joint Board of Directors made up of representatives of employers' organizations and employees' trade unions.

INRS employs 586 people (210 in Paris and 376 at the Lorraine center) with a wide range of skills: engineers, doctors, researchers, trainers, legal experts and information specialists... It offers tools and services...
