8. ANACT and its ARACT network

Created by the law on the improvement of working conditions of December 27, 1973, the Agence nationale pour l'amélioration des conditions de travail is a national public administrative body under the supervision of the Minister of Labor (French Labor Code, article L. 4642-1). Its Board of Directors is tripartite (employers' and employees' organizations, qualified individuals).

ANACT and its regional network (ARACT) are responsible for :

  • to contribute to the development and encouragement of research, experiments and achievements in improving working conditions;

  • to gather and disseminate information on any action taken in France and abroad to improve working conditions;

  • support corporate initiatives to assess and prevent occupational risks.
