1.1 Servomotor
The servomotor is an electric motor equipped with an angular encoder that enables it to continuously identify its position. The angular encoder is a disk system marked with points (between 1,500 and 6,000) on its periphery. These points serve as reference points for the servomotor's positioning. With each revolution, the servomotor passes in front of these measurement points, which, after gear reduction, enables linear positioning of the moving platen, injection screw and ejector to within 0.01 mm, whatever their speed. What's more, unlike oil, whose fluidity, volume and compressibility vary according to external parameters such as temperature or number of operating hours, the servomotor retains the same operating characteristics under normal operating conditions. The market
For twenty years, electric injection molding machines were considered marginal and remained confined to cutting-edge sectors such as connector technology, optics, medical technology or the production of parts requiring high precision. Since 2004, however, they have become a common working tool that can be transposed to most production processes previously carried out on hydraulic injection molding machines.
