6.1 Yield
Comparing the distribution of energy to obtain a movement in an electric press (figure 8 a ) with that of a hydraulic press (figure 8 b ), we can see that the distance between the energy source and the movement to be performed is significantly shorter for the electric press. This results in an efficiency of between 0.9 and 0.95 for an electric press, compared with 0.3 to 0.4 for a hydraulic press.
