    Overview

    ABSTRACT

The aim of this article is to help understand and solve delamination issues when drilling composite plates. A comprehensive approach based on the technique of experimental design is presented. The influence of cutting parameters and of the manufacturing method of composite parts on the delamination area at the output of the hole has been studied. From these experimental designs, empirical models are proposed, which allow for the prediction of defects at the output of the hole according to cutting parameters. These empirical models are also used in order to determine the best cutting parameters.
