Overview
FrançaisABSTRACT
Abstract This article focuses on the presentation of some examples and case studies concerning thermo-mechanical, diffuse-mechanical and thermo-chemo-mechanical-oxidation couplings taking place during ageing of composite materials with organic matrix for aircraft and aerospace applications. For each type of coupling experimental characterization, modelling, identification and simulation are discussed, based on existing literature references and on research.

INTRODUCTION
The integration of Organic Matrix Composites (OMCs) into structures exposed to aggressive environments remains a challenge, due to the durability problems that can arise during the life of these parts. CMO aging is the result of the combined action of temperature, humidity, pressure and light inherent to the environment. It also depends on processing conditions (type of process, firing cycle inducing residual stresses) and the physical structure of the material, which is more or less sensitive to scattering species and light rays. It corresponds to an often irreversible evolution of the material's properties, and its study requires the implementation of multi-physical and multi-scale approaches, both experimental and theoretical, raising highly complex scientific as well as technological questions.
This article is devoted to the presentation of examples and case studies concerning thermomechanical, diffusomechanical, thermochemical-mechanical-oxidative couplings that arise during the ageing of organic matrix composite materials (thermosetting resin) for aeronautical and aerospace applications. For each type of coupling, the stages of experimental characterization, modeling, identification and simulation are covered, drawing on existing bibliographical references and –– on the authors' own research work.
