5. Labeling

Labels are becoming increasingly sophisticated as a means of conveying information and marketing. Labeling can be carried out in several ways:

  • paper labels or foil-on-paper laminates, glued with cold glue or hot-melt adhesive;

  • Plastic film labels: OPP (oriented polypropylene film), usually wrap-around, glued with hot melt self-adhesives, supplied in rolls;

  • shrink sleeves in OPP, PVC or PET.

Labellers can be linear for low speeds, or rotary for high speeds. Here, we present the rotary labellers generally used by large-scale food processing plants.
