French copyright is the right of creators.
Article L111-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code
"The author of a work of the mind enjoys, by the sole fact of its creation, an exclusive incorporeal property right that is enforceable against all. This right comprises attributes of an intellectual and moral nature, as well as attributes of an economic nature".
Copyright confers on its holder a property right composed of two types of rights:
allow the author to be remunerated for each use of his work;
whose purpose is to protect the author's personality as expressed in his work.
