 INTRODUCTION

In a changing world, we are witnessing the upheavals brought about by the digital world, raising the question of what kind of society we want. Access to the digital world, with its profusion of information, exchanges and interactions, has changed our relationship with time, space and each other.

These worldviews oppose, confront or complement each other. In the first vision, the world is "a mille-feuille", a hierarchical, structured and stratified world. In the second view, the world is "a dish of spaghetti", a world of interactions, links and interdependencies. In the third vision, the world is a hybrid of "spaghetti and mille-feuille", a world in which interactions and links coexist in new structures adapted to the digital world.

The transformations we are experiencing are opening the way to transforming the current "society of fear" into a new era of "society of trust". Naturally, this passage will come about by letting go of our own fears, reducing our "ego" and overcoming our resistance to change.

After the age of access and then the age of sharing , we are now in the age of quintessence, where one of the challenges for companies is to know how to gather and use useful information extracted from the oceans of information (big data, open data, cloudsourcing, crowdsourcing). The aim is to create sustainable, economic, shared, ecological and humanist value. The knowledge society is paving the way for new professions such as "community manager", "data analyst", "knowledge engineer", "growth manager", "agile manager", "user driven manager" and "foresight manager".
