6. General power supply
When one or more bridges or gantries need to be electrically powered, a power supply line with characteristics and materials that depend on the length of the line and the environment (indoor, outdoor) must be used. The most commonly used products are :
the feeder sheath: the conductors are distributed in a PVC sheath, with collection by a collector cart running inside the sheath. Suspended along the length of the building by claw supports, the sheath can be used to supply several pieces of low-intensity equipment over lengths of no more than 120 to 150 m ;
insulated conductor rails: each conductor is embedded in an insulating PVC or polycarbonate envelope, depending on the ambient temperature; the sensors, one per phase, are mounted in a sheet under the conductors and, as with the sheath, are supported along...
