 INTRODUCTION

While self-propelled forklift-trucks have become commonplace in industry and commerce, and are produced in large quantities by major manufacturers, some applications call for equipment with very specific characteristics, produced in much more limited series, or even custom-built.

These include devices with special protection against cold, corrosive, abrasive or explosive atmospheres.

Lateral forklifts, on the other hand, are specially designed for handling long loads. For special industrial applications, we use high-capacity forklifts that are often virtually custom-built, and therefore have very specific characteristics, particularly in terms of compactness.

Today, there is a whole range of specially-designed carts which can be attached to the rear of road delivery vehicles by their own means, enabling the driver to unload and position the delivered pallets without any assistance. These devices not only improve delivery productivity, but also offer a new and valuable service to customers, and are therefore enjoying strong growth.

The spread of containerization in maritime transport has led to the development of several families of appropriate equipment: high-capacity, high-lift front-end loaders, straddle carriers and stackers, which are now used in ports all over the world.
