4. Managing a forklift fleet

The purpose of a AGV system is to ensure output, so managing the forklift fleet is of considerable importance. There's no point in having fast AGVs if they're constantly being slowed down for IT management reasons.

It should be noted that each installation has its own constraints, and while standard software can be used, the installation-specific part can only enhance performance and usability.

VAG's fleet management software must provide at least the following functions:

  • collection of transfer requests ;

  • allocation management based on priorities and available VAGs ;

  • management of GAW waiting areas;

  • management of battery recharging periods ;

  • management of AGV...
