Typical applications are described below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list or even a limitation of the technology.

There are many applications, and any installation requiring speed and regularity can potentially be automated with VAG.

The structure of the AGV traffic network will have to take particular account of the constraints of average and instantaneous production machine output.

The space reserved for AGV traffic must take into account the flows to be handled and the concentration of access stations. The more stations are grouped together, the greater the number of simultaneous accesses required. The principle is the same as for road traffic, where transport capacity depends on the size of the circuit.
