6. Legal and regulatory obligations

6.1 Machinery Directive 98/37/EC

AGVs are considered machines, and their construction must meet the requirements of European Directive 98/37/EC of January 22, 1998 (incorporating Directives 89/392/EEC, 91/368/EEC, 93/68/EC and 93/44/EC).

In addition, the use of AGVs is governed by Directive 95/63/EC of December 5, 1995, which stipulates that employers must provide their personnel with equipment appropriate to the tasks to be performed.
