1. What are documents and light objects?

  • A document is a material medium containing a variety of information:

    • administrative: mail, customer files, accounting, legal, financial, sales... ;

    • technical or production documents: data sheets, manufacturing files, drawings, analysis documents... ;

    • medical: X-rays, test results, medical records... ;

    • books, newspapers, magazines, local or national archives, cassettes, CDs, films...

    A document has a variable lifespan, and can be archived or destroyed depending on the value of the information it contains.
