1. Need for external recognition

The main aim of the assessment is to gather factual evidence and provide guarantees on the relevance of measurement results produced by laboratories or inspection bodies, where these have a significant influence on the outcome of the inspection.

For this guarantee to be accepted, the results of measurements must be comparable, at different times, in different places and with different personnel, within the measurement uncertainties. When it comes to testing or analysis, we aim to use the same method, so that the protocol does not introduce any new uncertainty components.
