2. Traceability in healthcare organizations

After defining the two types of traceability in the hospital context, we will analyze the notion of activity traceability and its practical implementation in hospitals.

2.1 Traditional traceability and traceability of hospital activities

Our aim here is to define what is meant by "traditional" traceability (product traceability) in a hospital context, and then to present the pressures to which establishments are subject, and which, since the late 1990s, have strongly encouraged them to develop activity traceability systems.
